Quantitative + Qualitative
What is quantitative data + examples?
This data is based on factual information. Examples - Bleep Test, Cooper Test
What is qualitative data + examples?
This data is based on thoughts and personal opinions. Examples - PPW, POMS, SCAT (Questionnaire)
Advantages + Disadvantages of Qualitative Data?
Advantages - Only performer knows exactly how they feel.
Advantages - Answers can be recorded and used as a permanent record.
Disadvantages - Performer might be overconfident or lacks self belief causing them to lie meaning the data is inaccurate.
Disadvantages - Can be used in retesting as a way to compare the effectiveness of the PDP
Advantages + Disadvantages of Quantitative?
Advantages - Fatcual information of score provides an accurate and reliable overview of performers abilities. Which helps to set sessions at the correct intensity/duration.
Advantages - Standardised fitness test provides you with a score (NORM) when can help set goals in PDP
