What is qualitative data?
Expressed in words rather than statistics, may take the form of a written description of the thoughts, feelings and opinions of participants.
What are the methods used to collect qualitative data?
An interview or an unstructured observation.
What is quantitative data?
Data that can be counted usually given as numbers.
What are the methods used to collect quantitate data?
Data collection techniques usually gather numerical data in the form of individual scores from participants.
E.g.A number rating graph.
What is primary data?
Information that has been obtained first-hand by a researcher for the purpose of a research project.
What is Secondary data?
Information that has already been collected by someone else and so pre-dates the current research project.
What is a Meta-Analysis?
The process of combining the findings from a number of studies on a particular topic. The aim is to produce an overall statistical conclusion based on a range of studies.
