Crime punishable by death or imprisonment for more than 1 year. (Common law: burglary, arson, robbery, rape, larceny, murder, manslaughter, and mayhem)

Crime punishable by imprisonment for less tan 1 year or fine only. (Common law: crimes not considered felonies were deemed misdemeanor)

A
Act that is wrong only because it violates a statute (speeding or failing to register a firearm)

A
Act that is inherently wrong or evil - an act that involves a general criminal intent or moral turpitude (murder, theft, battery)
