What is conformity?
Conformity is a type of social influence. It is when a person changes their behaviour as a result of imagined pressure.
internalisation
Making the beliefs, values, attitudes and behaviours of the group your own. e.g. being brought up in a religious household then becoming religious yourself.
Identification
A temporary change of behaviour and beliefs only in presence of the group.
e.g. acting more professional and less silly when you arrive at work.
compliance
Following other peoples ideas to go along with the group to gain their approval or avoid disapproval. (publicly agreeing but privately disagreeing).

when someone conforms because they want to be right so they look to others by copying them

When someone conforms because they want to be liked and be part of a group.
