Types Of cells Flashcards
What are the types of leukocytes
Neutrophils,lymphocytes, monocytes,eosinophils, and basophils
Types of granulocytes
Neutrophils,eosinophils, basophils
GRANULES VISIBLE
Types of agranulocytes
Lymphocytes, monocytes
Neutrophils
Multi-lobed nucleus and cytosol has neutral or pale granules
Release enzymes totarget and phagocytize pathogens
50-70%
Eosinophils
Bilobed nucleus and Cytosol has reddish or pink granules
Phagocytize antigen antibody complexes and destroy parasites
1-4% of total leukocytes
Basophils
Nucleus is bi-lobed and cytosol contains deep blue-violet specific granules
Release histamine during inflammatory reactions
0.5-1% of total leukocytes
Lymphocytes
Round or indented dark stained nucleus that’s surrounded by a little bit of cytosol
Coordinates immune cell activity, attacks pathogens and abnormal cells, and produces antibodies
20-40% of total leukocytes
Monocytes
Pale kidney or c-shaped nucleus with abundant Cytosol
Become macrophages and phagocytize
2-8% of total leukocytes
Most abundant leukocyte?
Neutrophil
