Humanitarian Aid
Direct support for regions currently experiencing difficulties that prevent people from fulfilling their basic needs.
Food Aid
Aid that is given to reduce hunger during times of emergency or for longer-term needs.
Official Development Assistance (ODA)
Development aid that is given by governments.
Emergency Relief Aid
Aid given to populations affected by severe natural or man-made disasters.
Development Aid
Assistance given to a country with the aim of achieving improvements in human development in the longer term.
Aid
Assistance given to a country that would not have been provided through normal market forces.
Programme Aid
Long-term aid that supports improvement in an entire industry or sector.
Project Aid
Aid that comes in the form of funding for small, shorter-term projects, which will continue to be useful once they are completed, such as building schools or hospitals.
Tied Aid
Aid that may be conditional on the receiving country making special arrangements with certain businesses from the donor developed country, or where it must agree to only trade certain goods and services with that donor country
