Help tolerate stress, learn social skills, respond to environment
Gently change thought patterns
Antisocial PD
Blatant disregard for others thoughts, feelings, etc

Failure to conform to social norms Irritability Reckless disregard for others safety Deceitful Impulsivity

Absence of parental love = lack of trust Modeling Unintentionally rewarding antisocial behavior Low brainwave activity Less gray matter

Histrionic PD
Extremely emotional, needs to be center of attention
Histrionic PD Symptoms (5+)
Uncomfortable if not center of attention
Constant need for praise or approval
(Vein, self entered, etc)
May draw attention by exaggerating illness or flashy clothing

Unhealthy parental relationships
Defense against future abandonment
Cannot care for self so need others to care for them
May have important insights to please therapist
Most drugs are unsuccessful
Narcissistic PD
Grandiosity; lack of empathy; constant need for admiration
Narcissistic PD Symptoms (5+)
Preoccupied with fantasies of limitless fame Only high status people understand Require extensive admiration Sense of entitlement Interpersonally exploitive Lack empathy Envious Arrogant

Cold, rejecting relationships
Abuse
Praised too persistently
One of the most difficult to treat
Might try to get therapist to see them in a positive light
Goals: interpret criticism more positively
Increase ability to empathize
