Two-way ANOVAS L9 Flashcards

1
Q

What is a factorial ANOVA and why is it used?

A

A factorial ANOVA has 2 IV’s with 2 or more levels of each IV (different groups)
Used as it’s less time consuming and decreased likelihood of TI error occurring

Q

How many F values are produced from a two way ANOVA and what are they?

Q

What are main effects in regards to two way ANOVAs?

Q

What does the 3rd F value found show?

A

It indicates whether the influence of one IV on the DV depends upon the levels of the other IV - termed an interaction effect

Worth noting that an interaction is not significant if the influence of one IV on the DV is constant across all levels of the other IV
