About 8 car lengths as long as there’s no previous turn,

Check mirrors

Signal

Cover brakes and clutch

Clutch down

Keep more to the left/right if there’s 2 lanes

Into 1st gear if you’re stopping, find biting point and look both ways (t junction)

If there’s no gaps coming up we keep our clutch down until we see a gap coming up

Stay in second if you’re trying not to stop

Check your left mirror before you turn to make sure no cyclists have creeped up on you
