Tumor Immunotherapy Flashcards
Which two types of immunotherapy is there
Passive - don’t rely on host IS. In vitro production of Ab that is injected into patient
Active - Rely on host IS. Either foreign antigen is introduced and the host needs to create an immune response (as vaccine) or host own cells are collected and ex vivo stimulated to respond towards a certain antigen and reinfused into patient
What is adoptive cellular immunotherapy
Adoptive Cellular immunotherapy is a form of active immunotherapy where cells are ex.vivo stimulated towards an antigen or just increased in nr and reinfused into patient.
The patients cell can also be genetically engineered ex.vivo to make the patients T cells to recognize a certain antigen and then reinfused
