Who was Henry VIII and how did he rule England?
Henry was the second Tudor monarch who lead England under Catholicism. When he decided to divorce his wife, he made the country Protestant but not much changed.
Who did Britain have conflict with? Why?
The had conflict with Spain when they turned Protestant. This was because Spanish people were strongly Catholic and didn’t like that England had changed.
Why did Henry VIII break from Rome?
So he could be the head of the church and make the rules rather than listening to the Pope.
What challenges did Edward VI face as King?
He had to endure with the fact that people did not want to be fully Protestant and would like to stay Catholic. However he was brought up a Protestant.
Was Mary really that bad?
She made it confusing because now the country was going back to Catholic. She killed Martyrs who didn’t listen to her. She was quite a hated queen so I think that she did deserve it.
Why was Queen Elizabeth so concerned about her portraits? What evidence can you find in her portraits?
Elizabeth was an attractive woman so she needed a painter to paint her beautifully. This is shown by all the white makeup she had on her face. Since she was a woman people had a lot of prejudice against her so she had to make herself look good.
Describe the Spanish Armada and its outcome. How would you describe Queen Elizabeth role?
The Spanish Armada was an army designed to invade England because it was Protestant. Queen Elizabeth was the person they were trying to kill. Mary queen of Scott’s, her cousin, planned her death along with other Catholics.
Explain how Elizabeth tried to please both Catholics and Protestants
She created a Middle way saying Catholic’s can be Catholic and Protestants could be Protestant.
Analyse how successfully Elizabeth solved the problem of religion and the poor?
The Catholics couldn’t really be Catholic in public making a lot of enemies for Elizabeth. But mostly a lot of people were on board with her plan and it ended up saving England.
