What is Clark Fisher Model?
It shows the changes in employment, from pre-industrial times to post-industrial times, in primary, secondary and tertiary jobs.
Define Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and quaternary jobs
Primary: The workers directly involved in the process of the product
Secondary: The workers who make the product in factories
Tertiary: The workers involved with the public in the product
Quaternary: Workers involved with technology
Why did the secondary industry decline?
Because people could get an education and become a highly paid citizen.
Because people who were poor were given attention and were more susceptible to become 2nd class
Why did the tertiary industry increase
Because people could get a better education
Because it paid more secondary
What is fair trade
Trade that pays primary workers just as much as secondary and tertiary workers.
Why is their an unequal trade in the coffee industry?
Because Primary Workers can’t demand a higher salary as they are poor and ignored by corporate entities.
What is TNC?
Transportation Network Companies.
What us strip farming?
Growing crops in narrow strips to reduce soil erosion.
Why did the agricultural revolution occur
There was more land, livestock and money coming from farming.
What’s technology helped the agricultural revolution?
Seed drill
Turnpikes?
Turnpikes were an organisation that wanted better roads so they got money from the people travelling through to pay for the repairs. This made it easier for farmers to travel and sell their crops.
Canals?
When transporting heavy or valuable materials canals were easier to do that. They made it quicker as well and it was smoother than a hard road.
Railways?
Railways were the fastest and most efficient mode of transport at the time. It could carry passengers, goods and animals in a series of carriages without having any problems.
Life in the mills for children?
Children were abused and neglected and could sometimes get themselves stuck in dangerous machines. They had to work hard with no breaks.
Lifer in schools?
Schools abused children as well for instance if you didn’t get a question right you’d be beaten. Children were also humiliated in front of the class.
What does inference mean?
A quest you make supported by evidence.
What can you infer from source A (child sitting away from the class with a hat on)
I can infer that the teacher humiliated people who were wrong. This is because he is separated from the class and wearing a dunce hat which means he’s being picked on.
