The Lie : Loneliness means I am alone.
The Truth: ?
Loneliness strips away the external comfort found in those around me, driving me to find comfort in Christ alone.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 ESV
[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, [4] who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. [5] For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
The Lie: I am the only one who has suffered like this, and no one will ever be able to understand my pain.
The Truth: ?
Christ will not ask me to suffer anything he himself has not already suffered.
Isaiah 53:2-5 ESV
[2] For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. [3] He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. [4] Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. [5] But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

Psalm 25:12-18 ESV
[12] Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. [13] His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. [14] The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. [15] My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pluck my feet out of the net. [16] Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. [17] The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. [18] Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.

When you wonder - ‘ Why am I still alive? Why can’t God just let me die? ‘
Suffering Christian, you are alive today because God has a purpose for your pain that is for the good of others and the glory of Christ. Death to self may be at work in your suffering, but life in Christ is at work in the church.
Philippians 1:20-26 ESV
[20] as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. [21] For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. [22] If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. [23] I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. [24] But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. [25] Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith, [26] so that in me you may have ample cause to glory in Christ Jesus, because of my coming to you again.
