Truth Flashcards
The same things you use to protect yourself (eating and drinking) from the thing you are scared to face (negative feelings) is the same thing that is stopping you achieving your goal (losing weight).
If you can face your feelings bravely and without food or drink you will achieve your goals!
Time to focus!
Don’t be scared to succeed. There are plenty of other challenges you can take on after this!
One of the best bits of advice i heard a couple of years ago from an older woman in a support group i joined was that the only way to heal from something is to be honest with yourself. Lying to yourself buys you time but heals nothing. So simple but it was a light bulb moment for me and very helpful whenever something major happens because how often do you avoid thinking about something because it hurts? You gotta face it, you gotta brawl with it, then you let it burn you to the ground because then……you resurrect, then you heal, then you share your story and help someone else. So thank you lady where ever you may be. X

“The comparing mind often kicks in to convince you of your unworthiness because anything short of perfection is failure by comparison. This voice discourages you from sustaining a change. Instead of acknowledging that it will be hard, that you are likely to have to renew your resolve, and cautioning you to be clear-eyed about that, the comparing mind perpetuates a low opinion of you and your chances, convincing you that the change you seek is impossible.” - Sharon Salzberg https://onbeing.org/blog/sharon-salzberg-what-is-really-lost-when-you-compare-yourself-to-others/
Run your own race 🏃🏻♀️
Be consistent. Don’t aim for perfect just consistently ok.
This needs to be something you can maintain most days!
You are important!
Prioritise yourself - housework, Saab and others can wait! They will still be there later!
When I feel exhausted or just want to take some time out for myself before I move on to the next thing - I find something relaxing to do or steal a few minutes on my way home to look at a view or breathe in some air or meditate. (e.g on the way home from work I could stop at the wetland instead of HJs)
This restores my soul and clears my mind. And gives me some me time before I have to back to serving others.
