Marco and Rodolfo are very close, and Marco feels responsible for Rodolfo.
“If he does wrong, you must tell him”

Catherine cares about Eddie and although they may argue, he is still family. Despite being betrayed, she still loves him.
“Eddie, I never meant to do nothing bad to you”
Marco has come to America to work hard and earn money to take care of his family, it is clearly very important to him.
“…I could send them a little more if I stay here”
Eddie believes that your own family is the most important thing, other people should not get involved
“You never mix yourself with somebody else’s family!”
Although Eddie does not like Rodolfo, he would never be able to bring himself to go against what he believes in and betray the family (although he does in the end)
