A plan announced by sos Marshall at Harvard to stabilise the economies of Europe and stop the spread of communism.

It created stronger markets for US exports.

Truman persuaded congress to provide $400 million to help Greece escape communism
Why was the us concerned about events in Greece and turkey?
Because the civil wars there determined whether they became capitalist or communist and Truman wanted Western Europe to be capitalist.
What did the us fest might happen to France and Italy and why?
They feared that communist parties would take over as their economies were weak so a governmental failure would make it easier for communist parties to take over.
