he spent almost six years interviewing Dick and Perry whilst they were on death row and became friendly with both- Perry in particular.

A

He recognised a kindred spirit in Perry- they both had a nomadic, “Rootless” upbringing

A

He didn’t record interviews or take notes at the time- he relied on “Total recall”- hence the story is quite possible unreliable and we need to look for signs of this.
