How many years did Capote spend interviewing Dick and Perry, and how did this effect their relationship?
he spent almost six years interviewing Dick and Perry whilst they were on death row and became friendly with both- Perry in particular.
Similarities between Capote and Perry
He recognised a kindred spirit in Perry- they both had a nomadic, “Rootless” upbringing
Capotes method of interviewing:
He didn’t record interviews or take notes at the time- he relied on “Total recall”- hence the story is quite possible unreliable and we need to look for signs of this.
