-Holy Spirit: presence of God on earth
-Church believe ‘there is one God existing in one person’
-Trinity isn’t mentioned in Bible but there is concept of it
-Coined by Tertullian
-Doctrine was to combat 3 heresies:
-Adoptionism (J became son of God after baptism)
-Sabellianism (J was divine not human)
-Arianism (J was the highest of all but not the same as God)
