1) embryonate eggs ingested
2) larvae hatch in small intestine
3) larvae ingrate to transverse and ascending colon, –> mature into adults and mate
4)adult female she’d unembryonated eggs which pass out in faces
5) eggs embryonate in soil
6£ eggs pass our within 3 months. Female adult love 1.5-2 years

Pathogenesis
A
- structural defects in epithelium
- histo pathology damage to gut
- wavy infections cause ileitis and anaemia

Clinical disease
A
- acute dysentery
- leading to diarrhoea
- chronic colitis
- protracted tenesmus–> leads to rectal prolapse
- chronic infections causes deficits in cognitive and inter lecture development

Diagnosis
A
Identification of eggs in stool or use of colonoscopy
