Why was ww1 fought in trenches?
A
France and Britain both dug trenches on the western front as the Germans were advancing too quickly + only way to stop them was to put a barrier in front of them.

What was going ‘over the top’?
A
When a soldier left his land to by ‘going over’ the parapet + into no man’s land

A
Time when soldiers went ‘over the top’ (7:30am)

A
Land between the opposing British + German trenches on the battlefield
