The British public wanted Germany to recieve consequences for their actions but did not want to cripple them as Germany acted as a barier to communism.

The Americans wanted Germany to understand their actions but recieve little consequence.

The french wanted revenge for all the damage that was recieved. The french wanted to see Germany crippled.
