Q

Gonorrhea Recommended Treatment - During pregnancy

A

Pregnant women who have gonococcal infection should be treated with recommended or alternative ephalosporin.

Because spectinomycin is not available in the US, azithromycin 2 g orally can be considered for women who cannot tolerate cephalosporin.

Either amoxicillin or azithromycin is recommended for treatment of presumptive or diagnosed chlamydia.
