Treatment Profiles Flashcards
Treatment table 5
Descent rate?
20 ft/min
Treatment Table 5
Used to treat what?
Decompression sickness type 1 or pain only
Treatment table 5
Ascent rate
Not to exceed 1 ft/min
Treatment table 5
When does oxygen time start?
Upon arrival at 60 fsw
Treatment table 5
What happens if pt has CNS oxygen toxicity?
Allow 15 min after reaction has entirely subsided and resume schedule at point of interruption
Treatment table 5
Can you extend oxygen breathing time if Sx persist?
Yes. May extend two oxygen-breathing at the 30 foot stop. No air break required between oxygen-breathing periods or prior to ascent
Treatment table 5
Explain tender treatment
Inside tender breathes 100% oxygen during ascent from 30 foot stop to surface.
If tender had previous hyperbaric exposure in previous 12 hours, an additional 20 min of oxygen breathing is required prior to ascent.
Treatment table 5
How long from surface to first stop
3 min from surface to 60 fsw (20 ft/min)
Treatment table 5
How long from hitting bottom to first air break?
20 minutes
Treatment table 5
How many breathing times before ascending to next stop?
Two
Treatment table 5
What is the depth of the second stop?
30 fsw
Treatment table 5
What is the ascent time and rate from 60 to 30 fsw
30 min
1 ft/min
Describe treatment table 5
3 min descent to 60 fsw, 20 min, 5 min air break, 20 min, 30 min ascent to 30 fsw, 5 min air break, 20 min, 5 min air break, 30 min ascent to surface
Treatment table 5
Total time
135 mi , 2 hrs 15 min, not including descent time
Treatment table 6
Used for what?
Decompression sickness - neurological and cardiopulmonary symptoms (type 2 and 3)
AGE, CAGE, VGE
