what is the Quebec act?
An act meant to change the Royal Proclamation. The changes were meant to meet Quebec society needs and win loyalty of Canadians.
- The boundaries of Quebec were extended
- the french language was protected
- freedom of religion was guaranteed
-French civil law was restored - government would include french speaking catholics
what is the treaty of Paris 1763?
When british won the international war, British, france, and spain signed this treaty.
French gave up all its possessions in North America to Britain and Spain.
British took new France and French territories east of mississippi (Louisiana)
France kept 2 small islands (saint pierre and misquelon)
What is the united Nation Declaration?
A declaration that is non binding on the rights of indigenous peoples.
what is the Wampan belt/ Hiwatha Wampam?
Represents the Great Law of peace that each nation agreed to. The law consists of their peoples values.
