tracy gives a voice to the oppressed
“it is a painful and harassing business belonging to her”
emphasis on the cruelty of the slaveowners and how the slaves are treated as waste
“they could dispose of the whole family without consulting”
after everything theyve gone through the first speaker still has a great amount of generosity
“i have prayed for those people many many very many times”
they are a very god fearing family as the second speaker talks about how tired she is
“only waiting to be sent home in peace with god”
the extent to which this cruelty was maintained and how impactful it was on their population
“the loss is great and increasing”
“the whole country will not come back”
the third speaker is in a slight confusion as to why theyre subjected to this abuse which is very emotional
“but we cannot all be the cause”
the fourth speaker is courageous and bravery and believes they can face whatever happens
“if good we shall be good if evil then we must meet with evil as best we can”
the contrast between the first and second time this line was used is so heartbreaking as the first time the slave was praying for the slaveowner in a more positive light and the second time it was being used to portray the amount of times theyve been sold
“many many very many times”
