First line analgesia
IV morphine 5-10mg
Complex, open fracture
Start IV abx
Use a traction splint if above knee fracture
Log roll
Don’t log roll with suspected pelvic fractures (only to clear airway, or suspect occult penetrating injury)
IV fluids
Crystalloids
250ml bolus until carotid/radial palpable
Spinal flexion
Touching toes
Spinal extension
Leaning back
Hypovolaemic shock
Hypotensive + tachycardia
Neurogenic / spinal shock
Hypotensive + Brady
Cervical cord injury
Quadriplegic
Paraplegic
Thoracic/lumbar/sacral
