Transport in Animals Flashcards
1
Q
Function of chordae tendineae
A
When ventricles contract, lower volume and higher pressure. This forces the AV valves to shut preventing backflow into the atria.
Prevents backflow of blood into the atria
2
Q
Flow of blood through the heart from the vena cava
A
Vena Cava -right atrium contracts- AV triscupid valves - right ventricle contracts- semilunar valve
Pulmonary artery- DeO2 becomes O2 and travels back via PV into left atrium- contracts- biscupid AV valves- into right ventricle contracts- SLV
