Years ago before I came into the truth,

I would lay in bed at night and think to myself that I did not want to be destroyed at Armageddon.

Growing up over the years as far back as I can remember,
Crescendo ao longo dos anos, até onde me lembro,
me and my family would attend the meetings at the Kingdom Hall,

we were not always consistent and it would be for some time that we would be missing from the meetings.

I remember studying the bible when I got older,

but I didn’t do it because I wanted to,

I only studied because I thought it was something I had to do,

I never did it out of want or a desire to get to know Jehovah.

In my teenage years I wanted to be like everyone else,

I wasn’t interested in learning the truth,

I want to do things that I wanted to do,

I wanted to be like my friends, I wanted to hangout.

I’ve gotten into trouble a few times in my life when I was younger and

eventually when I turned early twenties

I thought to myself that if I continued the life that I was living

One day I decided to study the bible again,

I had a talk with my oldest sister who was already baptized for some years at the time.

I decided to study with an elder who had previously expressed interest in studying with me some years before

but I rejected him because I had no interest in the truth.

We studied from the Knowledge book which was at that time the study aid.
Estudamos a partir do livro conhecimento que era naquela época o auxílio ao estudo.
I made progress and after some years I was baptized in December of 2006.

It hasn’t always been easy for me over the years,

I’ve had my ups and downs and I’ve been inactive for some time off and on,

I still love being part of the organization

and I haven’t forgot the love Jehovah has shown

and continues to be with me and take care of my daily needs.
