5 Steps of the Composite Risk Management Process
A
Identify hazards (Death/Injury, Loss/Damage to Equipment)
- Assess the Hazards to identify the risk (Severity, Probability)
- Develop Controls (Educational, Physical, Avoidance)
- Implement Controls
- Assess & Evaluate (whether the controls are implemented, how effective they are)

Two Types of AARs
A
Formal—CO level and above, scheduled beforehand, complex training aids

• Informal-PLT & below, often internal, conducted immed following mission, on the objective
