When should you have a member turn power back on for a stuck elevator?

A

If the elevator has a two speed system, commonly found in buildings over 10 stories, use this procedure:

1) have passengers deactivate emergency stop button
2) have members in machinery room shut power and turn it on again
3) car should restart within 10 seconds

note: this is the ONLY circumstance in which elevators power may be restored by members of this department.
Note 2: sec 3.7.2 B which is after the previous note states remove power from rescue car then restore power in a side exit removal.
