It’s a process that employees go through to increase and develop their skills in oder for the company to become more efficient and successful

Training the worker in their non usual workplace

Increased motivation as they feel valued
Stay with the firm longer
What are the benefits to a business when a worker is given training
More productivity
Ability to cope with changes inside the business
Increases flexibility of the staff
What are the disadvantages to employees being trained
It’s an expensive process
If they are trained off site jobs aren’t being fulfilled
Trained employees may leave job as they are trained to a higher level
What is induction training
It’s a training given to new workers to familiarise them with the systems of the business and general layout

The worker learning exactly learns how the job is done and relevant skills to that job
There is no excess cost of taking the employee off the usual workplace
What are the 2 disadvantages of on the job training
The trainer is usually a manager, if their busy with the new employee they’re not filling their potential.
Only learn jobs relevant to that job so limited skills if they wanted to move to another business
What are the two disadvantages of off the job training
Employee isn’t being productive on their actual job
Expensive
What are the two advantages of off the job training
Uses a specialist to teach the employee, that means they’re receiving the very best training possible
Can bring skills learnt , to other employees in the workplace
