Connects Tokyo with the eastern cities of Chiba. It runs through Funabashi, Chiba, and Choshi.

Connects Tokyo and Kobe, the name carried over from pre-Shinkansen days. Owned by JR East, JR West, and JR Central. JR East runs from Tokyo to Atami and stops at Yokohama and Odawara.
