Tracks to Standard Flashcards
Formalities Before Getting to Site?
(x7)
- Get AWC issued by authoriser fully covering work.
- Ensure that staff, tools and equipment are correct and on site.
- Book in with CSS. (Station Supervisor)
- Complete understanding with the Track Operations Representative. (P-Way)
- Arranged adequate protection. (Line Controller)
- Inform Fault Report Centre of your location, scope of work and estimated finish time.
- Inform Signaller of the site and work to be carried out (Control-Room). Request to take control of the site
Initial Actions Before Starting Work?
(x3)
(Isolation & Sketch)
- Test meter.
- Remove ‘Q’ and ‘R’ fuses of working track (+Adjacent track ‘R’ fuses).
- Check track connections (Make Sketch) and disconnect all wires and equipment.
Getting Track to Standard
(x4)
(Ballast Leakage Test)
- Test block joint on Ohms
- Adjacent ‘R’ fuses replaced
- Extraneous voltage test (<0.5V R1-R3)
- Induced loop test (Dead short ‘T’ end <0.2V R1-R3)
Getting Track to Standard
(x4)
(Relay Tests)
- Replace R’ and ‘Q’ fuses (Working Track)
- Relay energisation check (1/3 tunnel) (2/3 outside)
- BX100V test on ‘Q1’ to earth
- Q2 break test (Relay fully de-energises, front contacts break)
Getting Track to Standard
(x4)(+1)
(Opposition Tests)
- Capacitor in section (Note value of capacitor) (O/P to earth = Track volts)
- TR-GR test (Break R1 or R3 on GR, TR de- energises)
- Top TDB links in section (Link to earth = Track volts)
- Opposition (V1+V2=V3) (Both ends)
[1ohm shunt (Extremities and middle) (Observe TR fully de-energises and front contacts break)]
Getting Track to Standard
(x4)
(Gauging)
- Reinstate Position Detector and gauge (If applicable)
- Gauge Trainstop (If applicable)
- Gauge Tripcock Tester (if applicable)
- Check all signals can clear
Formalities Before Leaving Site?
(x6)
- Site tidy
- Give up protection
- Inform Signaller/SOM that work has been completed
- Clear AWC with Fault Report Centre
- Control movement of trains until track proved to shunt
- Sign out with CSS
