What is the Small claims track?
- The normal track for claims of a monetary value of less than £10,000.
- The track for cases in which the financial value of any claim for personal injuries is less than £1,000.
- Usually heard by a District Judge in the County Court.
What is the fast claims track?
- Cases where the financial claim is between £10,000 and £25,000 (property)
- For claims between £1000 and £25,000 (personal injury) which do not fall within the small claims track.
- Trial must not be expected to last for more than one day.
- Cases are also usually heard by a District Judge in the County Court.
What is the Multi-track claim?
- For more complex cases and deal with higher value claims.
- In the County Court these cases are heard usually by a Circuit Judge
- In the High Court by a High Court Judge.
- Personal Injury Claim between £25,000 and £50,000 (County Court)
- Property Claim over £25,000 (High Court)
- Personal Injury claim over £50,000 (High Court)
