Immigration - Brick lane
French Huguenots were the first to migrate to the area - then a wave of Jewish immigrants fleeing from the Russian empire - finally a wave of Bangladeshi immigrants entered the area in the 1950s and 1970s - to seek out work in the industrial parts nearby.

Tech City - Whitechapel
Media hub - for early stage businesses in tech and biotech industries - located near Whitechapel hospital - largest single employer in the borough - encourages those employees to take part in the industry - ‘Whitechapel masterplan’ - to create economy based around biotech.
