Because he realised that Britains economic revival depended on the revival of Europe’s economy which depended on Germany’s revival.

What were German objections to the treaty
Way to harsh felt Germany was being punished twice over. They had to pay reparations but were denied of the resources needed to pay them. They thought it was a Diktat meaning dictated peace they had no option.

Much unrest and rebellions in the Ruhr , when Germany couldn’t pay the reparations in 1922 France and Belgium occupied the Ruhr and forced 100,000 Germans to leave. The crippling payments led to a starving population and hyperinflation
