- A scheme set up in 2010.
- Covers 20,000 hectares of the Masai Mara
- High density of wildlife
- Travel companies lease the Masai’s land so the Masai have a steady source of income

How does the Basecamp Naboisho Conservancy Project benefit the Masai and the environment?
A
- Money has been invested in reforestation programmes and training and education for local people
- Jobs have been created for the Masai people
- Masai women create souvenirs which are sold in souvenir shops. Each souvenir has a label containing the name of the woman who made it, this guarentees that the profits goes to that woman
- Safaris are led by foot led by Masai guides
- Luxury tents have little impact on the local ecosystem2
