Touch Flashcards
Three range touch sensors?
Button, Squeeze sensor, Capacitive Touch Sensor
How does a button work?
When it is pressed its leads connect closing the circuit
What detects the amount of force being applied to a button? How does it work?
FlexiForce sensor; thin layers of pressure sensitive ink
What does capacitive sensor measure?
Capacitance; ability to store electrical charge
Three terminals on microswitch?
Common (C), Normally Open (NO), Normally Closed (NC)
What is a potentiometer (POT)? How to use in place of a single resistor? What can it be used as if all three leads connected?
A variable resistor; connect the middle lead and either side lead; a voltage divider that lowers voltage by dividing it across two resistors
What is the integrated chip (IC) for capacitive sensing?
QT113
How does capacitive sensor work?
It measures how long it’ll take to load a piece of wire with electric charge
What does FlexiForce sensor measure? What type of resistance sensor is it? How many leads on it?
measures squeeze (pressure) on its round head; simple analogue resistance sensor; two leads third is not connected but there to make connecting easier
