  • Goebbels propaganda from 1942 was more focussed on persuading Germans to accept the lower living standards
  • Following the battle of Stalingrad, the tone of the propaganda changed
  • Goebbels initially tried to downplay the problems
  • the message by 1945 was to fight to the bitter end
  • the fear of the USSR by the Nazis was used to install determination
