Walks on two limbs
Quadruped
Walks on four limbs
Superior
Meaning above or toward the head of a biped
Inferior
Below or toward to feet of biped
Posterior
Toward the back of biped
Anterior
Front of a biped
Proximal
Closer to the main trunk of the body/ closer to the point of attatchment
Distal
Closer to the outer limbs
Dorsal
Top of a quadruped (think dorsal fin)
also top side of a limb (eg visible side of a dogs paw)
Ventral
Underside of a quadruped (think dogs belly )
Caudal
Toward the tail of a quadruped
Cranial
Toward the head of a quadruped
Rostral
Toward the nose
Medial
Middle
Lateral
to the outside
