Where are gametes produced (female and male) and from type of cells?
In a male, they are produced in the testes and in a female in the ovaries. They are produced from germline cells.
Where is sperm produced in the testes?
In the seminiferous tubules.
What hormone is produced in the testes?
testosterone
Where is testosterone produced in the testes?
In the interstitial cells
What is the role of the prostate gland and the two seminal vesicles?
They secrete fluids that maintain the mobility and viability of the sperm
What do the ovaries contain?
Immature ova in various stages of development
What is the role of the follicle?
It surrounds and protects the developing ovum and secretes hormones.
What happens when ova has matured?
they are release into the oviduct where they be be fertilized by sperm to form a zygote (ovulation)
Where is the site of fertilization?
oviduct.
