How can an MIS be used?
A
By a headteacher analysing those pupils whose attendance is low or who are falling behind on their work as evidenced by test results so that they can discuss this with the pupils or arrange interviews with their parents

A
A management information system are organised collections of people procedures and resources designed to help support the decisions of managers

What makes an MIS different from a data processing system?
A
- produce information beyond that normally needed for routine data processing
- produces information where the timing is critical
- used to supply information to management in order to make decisions
- based around databases
