Describe the process by which steroid hormones regulate transcription
A
-Steroid hormones diffuse through cell surface membrane
-Bind to receptors on transcription factors inside the cell
-This changes the shape of the transcription factor, activating it
-Activated transcription factor enters the nucleus and binds to specific DNA sequences
-Binding stimulates transcription of a gene
