Q

which one big assumption from the principle is made that impedes it’s accuracy?

A

there will be no change in the allele frequency within generations of a population (not v accurate)

Q

There won’t be a population that meets the requirements or assumptions of the principles. Suggest why you would use the model anyway for allele frequency.

A

You can get a useful estimate at least of the allele(s) and frequency

Q

What are the 5 assumptions made by the model?

A
  1. No migration (no alleles are removed or new ones introduced)
  2. No mutations at all (no change to allele itself)
  3. No selection (to favour some alleles over others)
  4. Mating is random (to chose most random combos of alleles) and no inbreeding
  5. the population is large

Q

equation for alleles

A

p+q=1

turn 90 degree to right and you can tell which is dominant 😜

1 is to show 100% population
p is the frequency of the dominant allele
q is frequency of the recessive allele
