What is an autosomal chromosome?

A section of DNA that codes for a protein, these proteins control characteristics.
What is an allele?
A form of a gene.
What is a genotype?
The details of a gene.
What is a phenotype?
The observed characteristics caused by the genotype and the environment.
What does homozygous mean?
Alleles of a gene are the same.
What does heterozygous mean?
Alleles of a gene are different.
What is a dominant allele?
The allele that is always expressed in the phenotype.
What is a recessive allele?
Alleles that can only be expressed in the phenotype when they are homozygous recessive.
What is a codominant allele?
Both alleles of a gene are expressed in the phenotype.
What are multiple alleles?
More than two possible alleles in the population of a gene.
What is epistasis?
Two genes affect one characteristic.
