They contain a set of principles that outline how an organisation plans to deliver their services
What do procedures describe?

What is a DBS?
It is a check to see if an individual is safe to work in a setting
What is a multi-agency approach?
When different agencies such as schools, charities, youth organisations and health and social care services work with each other to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from being abused.
What must agencies understand in order for the multi-agency approach to work?
The roles they are taking up
What are risk assessments?
A legal document that identifies all the risks of an environment or a setting and the steps that can be taken to reduce the risk
What is an accessible complaints procedure?
A way in which anyone can complain about a service at any time.
What is a designated protection officer?
They are someone who is trained in dealing with safeguarding concerns and training staff up to a reasonable level for their role in safeguarding.
