Q

Clause 5 - leadership

Why does the quality and safety team (QA/QC) report to CEO/COO, and not to the production team/

A

To prevent conflict of interests.
- The production team’s interest is to move products quickly out of the warehouse, potentially leading to lax quality control, and have KPIs to hit
- However, QA/QC incurs a lot of costs for food testing and if products are held back → conflict
