In the south, urban areas have a higher economic value. most of the people work in tertiary and quaternary sectors whereas in the northern rural areas most people are employed in the primary sector

whereas the north there is a high proportion of older people in the rural areas usually to retire

reduces import and export restriction making it easier for counties to trade which increases FDI
globalisation
due to the improvements in transport and communication links countries are more integrated and connected
