How does the body reduce blood glucose levels? (3 marks)
Insulin is secreted by the pancreas.
Insulin causes glucose to be converted to glycogen.
Glycogen is then stored in the liver and muscle cells.
How does the body increase glucose levels. (3 marks)
Glucagon is secreted by the pancreas.
Glucagon causes glycogen to be converted to glucose and then release by the liver.
Blood glucose levels increase.
