In Detroit the population between 2000-2010 fell by 25% this is because of de-intdustrilisation meaning unemployment was high and then the population fell because people looked for work elsewhere. Houses where auctioned for as low as US $1.

Q

Explain how the economy changes as a country develops (developing- emerging- developed) to
consider: formal and informal, sectors (P, S, T, Q), working conditions etc

A

In developing countries lots of people work in low-skilled tertiary sector jobs, e.g. on market stalls. Few people will work in the secondary sector because there’s not enough money to invest in the technology needed. Only a small percentage will work in high-skilled tertiary jobs.

In emerging countries employment in the secondary sector is high. There are established industrial zones and good infrastructure. Lots of low-skilled tertiary jobs e.g. in retail or tourism.

In developed countries fewer people work in the secondary sector. Most people work in the tertiary sector because there is a skilled educated workforce and high demand for services like banks and shops.
